Sound horoscope mundane
In the sound horoscope, aspects occuring between planets in the course of time are interpreted as musical intervals and converted into audible frequencies (sounds). The fundamental frequency which represents the conjunction, is 272.204 Hz (C sharp 1), which in turn corresponds to the 33rd octave of the tropical year. The sounds are played in quick motion, with a default setting of one day corresponding to one second. Beginning: 30 days before the current date. Attention: Flash Player needed. Conjunctions of the moving planets are visible as intersection points of their trajectories. In order to make other aspects visible as intersection points, the trajectories are not drawn into a full 360° scale but the zodiac is 'folded'. The most common technique is the 45° system which divides the zodiac into eight segments of 45° each. These are drawn on top of each other. The 45° system shows all aspects that are multiples of 45° as intersection points of the trajectories, namely conjunctions, oppositions, squares, semi-squares (45°) and sesquisquares (135°).
Every Graphical Ephemeris contains an additional PDF data sheet that gives the dates of the aspects between the planets as well the dates of their entry into a new zodiac sign. This also contains sextile and trine aspects which are not visible as intersection points in a 45° graphic.

The natal positions of the planets are drawn as horizontal lines into a 45° Graphical Ephemeris. This allows to see important transits immediately and determine their date on the time scale. All transits are marked with a particular aspect symbol in the graphic. Conjunctions of the moving planets are visible as intersection points of their trajectories. In order to make other aspects visible as intersection points, the trajectories are not drawn into a full 360° scale but the zodiac is 'folded'. The most common technique is the 45° system which divides the zodiac into eight segments of 45° each. These are drawn on top of each other. Transit Rhythmogram
Transit rhythmogram for 5 years. In the transit rhythmogram the transit of the slow-moving planets are depicted as colored curves of intensity. The rhythmogram contains individual curves for the intensitiy of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, as well as a curve of sums. Accumulations of transits (phases of high cosmic activity for a person) can be seen in the curve of sums at a glance.
Calculation of the transit rhythmogram
Each of the transiting planets generates its own rhythmic curve through its transits over the positions of the natal planets and their aspect points. When the transiting planet reaches the 1° orb of a natal point, the rhythmogram starts to ascend; this rise lasts until the point of the exact transit, then the curve descends until the orb is left. The slower the movement of a planet, the higher and wider the resulting triangular curve will be. This results in a natural evaluation function for the transits based on their duration. Transits between outer planets are weighted less, conjunctions and oppositions are weighted more strongly than the other aspects.
For the most important long-term transits, the respective natal planet and the aspect type as well as the zodiac sign of the contact are indicated below the curve, so that it is easy to draw conclusions for the interpretation.
The curve of sums (black, top curve) is the sum of the individual planet rhythmograms and gives a summary of the cosmic activation in relation to certain natal constellations. (For experts: We generate a linear superposition of the individual transit curves; if the sum exceeds 70% of the maximum amplitude, we change to logarithmic representation.)
Incorporated elements: five transiting planets from Jupiter to Pluto; natal points: ten planets, Moon's Nodes, Ascendant and MC; Aspects 0°, 180°, 90°, 120°, 60°. Each graphic covers a time span of five years.
Ebertin's Life Diagram, Progressions

The Progression (also called Secondary Progression) is based on the idea that there is a symbolic analogy of 1 year = 1 day in the life of a person. At 30 years of age, a chart is calculated for the 30th day after birth.
This means that we determine the current age of the native in years and then calculate the chart for the same number of days after birth. This horoscope, similar to a transit chart, can be interpreted in relation to the birth chart (synastry).
Ascendant, MC and houses are moved by about 1° per year in the progressed chart. In practice, the number of years is multiplied by the mean daily motion of the Sun. The result is then added to the sidereal time of birth, and axes and houses are recalculated. The mean daily motion of the Sun (the so-called 'Naibod key') is 0.98564733°. In fact, this is a primary direction of the angles and houses.
Other astrological software may provide slightly different positions of the angles and house cusps. E.g., Solar Fire calculates them as follows: The solar arc, i.e. the ecliptic motion that the progressed Sun has made since birth, is added to the midheaven (MC), then the ascendant and the other house cusps are calculated from this new midheaven. Astrodienst offers this as an option in the section of "Display and calculation options"/"Progressions" under the designation "MC from solar arc".
Another method of calculating the progressive axes and houses is to apply the equation 1 year = 1 day to the Earth's daily rotation. Since the meridian moves forward by about 361° within a day, it would actually be logical to let the progressive MC run forward by 361° in the course of a year of life. Astrodienst offers this progression method under the designation "ARMC 361° / prog. Day". (Strictly speaking, the other two calculation methods mentioned above for the progressive axes are not real secondary progressions, but primary directions.)
