Biography
French journalist, historian and politician, who founded the Journal de Paris in 1867 and Le Soleil in 1873. A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure, he became a Paris city councillor and advisor to Philippe d'Orléans, Count of Paris (1838-1894). He died on 4 January 1899 in Paris at age 63.
