Information on the Personal Daily Horoscope

In the personal daily horoscope, a selected transit to your birth chart describes your mood or situation on that day. Transits which are particularly important are marked by *, **, or *** next to the heading. The text used for the transits are taken mainly from Robert Hand's 'Planets in Transit'. (What are transits?)

Subscription of the Extended Daily Horoscope

The Daily Horoscope for today, yesterday and tomorrow is free for everyone to use. Additional interesting information is accessible for subscribers only, e.g. the extended day choice, free transit selection, the love horoscope and planetary hours. For the duration of the subscription the website will be automatically free of 3rd party advertisements. Here you can find more information on the subscription.

Until further notice, the extended transit selection is free for all on Thursdays.

Why is the extended transit navigation in the daily horoscope free for Thursdays?

We would like to give all non-subscribers an opportunity to see what the Extended Daily Horoscope has to offer. Therefore, the navigation features for "Other transits occurring today" and "Important long-term influences" will be free for everyone on each Thursday until further notice.

By Thursday we mean, that the horoscope is for that day, i.e. it will be the 'tomorrow' horoscope on your Wednesday visit, or the 'yesterday' horoscope on Fridays. The local timezone of your reference place counts.

Lessons about love

Valid during many months: If you are in an established relationship, you will increasingly encounter stressful situations. This is a testing period for relationships. If you have the feeling that you are not good enough for your partner, the cause for this may be less related to him than your own lack of self-esteem. However, the case may just as easily be that your partner is suddenly no longer good enough for you. Leave your partner as he is and take care of your own issues first.

You probably find it difficult to refrain from criticizing your partner. You have chosen someone with whom you repeatedly come into conflict. You cannot live with your partner, yet also cannot live without him. You ultimately need this person now so that you can learn something about your own behavior. These lessons are not easy, but this process can also be intensely exciting.

If you are single, you will also be faced with the issues of relationships. Feelings of love are much stronger than your desire to simply be left in peace.

The partner references are set for a relationship with a man.
Choose the gender of your partner

You are a woman, and the text of this horoscope is worded accordingly where gender matters.

Occasionally the reading of the horoscope also refers to your partner, and the gender of your partner can be relevant for the wording of the text. The default setting of the computer assumes that your relationship partner is male. You can change this setting so that all references to a partner contain the correct wording for a female-female relationship.

To do so, please use the button 'Edit' next to the [Go]-Button at the top of the horoscope page. This link will take you to the data entry page. To the right of the gender selection you will find a checkbox marked with the glyph . If you activate this checkbox, all partner references in your horoscopes will be worded for female-female relationships.

This setting will be kept permanently in your natal data record on this server. It affects all available single-person horoscopes in which your partner is mentioned in a gender-dependent way. The setting also extends to orders via Astroshop. For example, there is a chapter 'Relationship Patterns' in the Psychological Horoscope, which will then automatically choose the correct wording for your partner's gender.

The special setting we have discussed here is effective only for single-person horoscopes. It has no function in two-person horoscopes with a known partner, where the actual gender of both partners is known.

Clock times
The time indicated tells you precisely when a transit becomes exact. The effect of the transit is strongest at this time and shortly before. This is particularly valid for fast-moving transits. All times are given in 24-hour format in the timezone indicated in the right column.

Minimal importance of reference place

Transits depend only on where you are born (because this influences your Ascendant and houses). They do NOT depend on where you live. The place where you live has no importance whatsoever for any horoscope reading on this website.

The only exception is of minimal impact. The time when a transit occurs is fixed in Universal Time (aka Greenwich Time). It is the time when a moving planet crosses a particular degree of the zodiac, where your birth planet (or house cusps) is considered to have left a mark. This time is the same, from wherever on the earth you may be watching! Only the local clock time for this moment however will be different, depending on the timezone, in which you live. The 'reference place' in the right column of the daily horoscope page is used to determine, in which time zone these transit times should be printed. If you know about time zones, you can however do the conversion from one to the other just as well in your head, as you often do when you watch a nation-wide or world-wide TV network.

Planetary Hours and Planetary Days

According to ancient lore, each day and each hour of a day is attributed to a particular planet. The purpose of this attribution is to find the right moment for a particular activity. For example, according to this lore, the right moment for love matters would be the hour ruled by Venus on a Venus day.

Planetary hours are calculated as follows: We calculate the length of time between sunrise and sunset and divide it into 12 equal sections. In the same manner, we divide the length of time between sunset and the following sunrise into 12 equal sections. The resulting 24 sections are called 'planetary hours'. Naturally, they are not ordinary 60-minute hours but can be longer or shorter. The 24 planetary hours make up a planetary day. Consequently, a planetary day lasts from sunrise on one day to sunrise on the next day.

The 24 planetary hours are attributed to the seven classical planets in astrology in the following order:

Saturn - Jupiter - Mars - Sun - Venus - Mercury - Moon - then from starting again with Saturn - Jupiter - etc.

Clock times are given in the timezone which is valid in Barcelona, Spain. Timezone offset at noon today: 2h east, i.e. noon is 2h earlier than in Universal Time (UT).
Time Zone and Reference Place

Are you in a different time zone to the one you were born in? If so, you might want to enter your present location as a place of reference, so that the date and the exact time correspond with wherever you are. To do this, click on 'Change Reference Place' at the bottom of the Daily Horoscope. This is NOT very important, please read on!

The beginning and the end of each day refer to the local timezone at this location.

The house system "Regiomontanus" is stored in your saved settings from Extended Chart Selection. In the Personal Daily Horoscope this system is used for transits of planets through houses.
